Groom local graduates to develop your manpower pipeline

The SkillsFuture Work-Study Programmes (WSPs) are offered by the Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) and SSG’s appointed private training providers to provide fresh graduates from the polytechnics, Institute of Technical Education (ITE), and mid-career individuals, a head-start in careers related to their discipline of study through work-study arrangements within organisations.

You can participate in the WSPs as a host employer by opening your workplace and offering structured training to the WSP trainees. By doing so, you will have the opportunity to groom and retain suitable talent with the relevant skills and aptitude to meet the needs of your organisation. The WSP trainees will receive guidance from mentors from the IHLs and the training providers to support their continued learning and contribution towards your business growth.

How you can benefit:

  • Develop a pipeline of talent to support your business growth
  • Cultivate relationships with the IHLs and training partners as your business partners for skills advisory and provide valuable industry feedback to them to enhance relevance and effectiveness of the WSPs

Subsidies and funding:

  • Receive a grant of up to $15,000 per trainee placed in the programme to defray the costs of developing and providing structured on-job-training (Terms and Conditions apply)
  • [New] COVID-19 wage support, pegged at 70% of gross monthly salaries (including Jobs Support Scheme) for up to 12 months for existing WSP trainees hired before 1 Sep 2020
